Commitment to Accessibility

As someone who provides training to web designers and developers on website accessibility and provides accessibility services through my client-based business, I need to practice what I preach. I have gone to great lengths to make the website accessible and in compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA and good usability practices.

I have manually coded most of the forms on the site because the code produced as a result of using a shortcode was not accessible.

I have contacted some developers about accessibility issues with their plugins. Several have resolved those issues at my request. Otherwise, where possible, I have edited the plugin code myself.

Some Known Issues

I am in the process of auditing the website and fixing issues that I find, some of which include issues with the site navigation and some third-party forms that I manually code to make them accessible.

Buy Me a Coffee, which is linked to in a few places on the website, is an independent website. The purchase buttons on their site are not keyboard accessible. I have inquired about fixing this and have been looking for an alternative solution.

Testing

I perform periodic ongoing manual accessibility tests and testing with assistive technology. If I get feedback from native users of assistive technology, I respond promptly and address any issues.
